First Monday Trade Days may be an event that is well-known in East Texas, but that isn't stopping hundreds of thousands of tourists from heading to the City of Canton for 4 days every month.  trade days canton  from Thursday through Sunday, before the First Monday of every month hundreds of vendors set up shop to offer shoppers a variety of options.


What began over a century ago as an antique market has grown into the location for some of most modern, exciting furniture, antiques, and collectibles discovered anywhere. Over the last 150 years, lots of things have changed in that Original First Monday Park; however, the authentic, down-to-earth personal relationships between sellers and buyers are the main reason people are always returning.

According to people from those who trade on market sites, idea of First Monday Trade Days started way back in 1850. the circuit judge was able to go to Canton on the 1st Monday of each month. People from all over the county would travel to Canton to participate in their court dealings. In the past, residents brought their own belongings, whether it was livestock, food items, and other pieces from their past, to sell or trade. Then in 1965 First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to its current place. And the rest is history...


First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers so odds are that no matter how many times you've been to the market you'll never really see it all. The flea marketplace is located on hundreds of acres and over 700,00 square meters of shopping.




The event on First Monday is free, however, the majority of parking facilities surrounding the trade area charge $5 for parking
